The Fortnite World Cup 2020 will not be taking place as Epic Games has officially cancelled the event entirely due to the current COVID-19 situation.

The competition will also not be held even online due to the technical limitations related to the challenges and restrictions taking place in different parts of the world, and so Epic Games is already thinking of a 2021 edition of the tournament.

However, Epic Games will still continue to support events organised by third parties provided that they are held exclusively online until the foreseeable future.

The cancellation of the Fortnite World Cup 2020 will certainly leave a big void in the 2020 Fortnite Battle Royale calendar, however the choice had to be made and for the moment FNCS will be returning each season for the rest of 2020 to kind of fill the void and allow players around the globe the opportunity to prove themselves.
