GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 sold over 150 million units combined worldwide
More success for Rockstar Games at the start of 2020, announcing impressive sales numbers across both blockbuster titles Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, plus an impressive holiday season for GTA Online & Red Dead Online.
Seven years after release Grand Theft Auto V is still managing to excite players, thanks in part to GTA Online having its biggest series of back-to-back updates that saw player numbers hit new records in 2019 following the release of the Diamond Casino & Resort update in July 2019 and the Diamond Casino Heist in December 2019.
Red Dead Redemption 2 achieved a new benchmark in sales and continues to have a strong concurrent player base with Red Dead Online. Apart from that, it hit a new peak in player numbers following the release of the Moonshiners update, topping those same numbers again this month.
Both titles have done great for the studio, Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 combined sales now totaling more than 150 million units worldwide.
