We know EA do have plans to release a new Need For Speed this year, and after not announcing anything at E3, we expect that they will possibly announce something at Gamescom in August, which they have been rumoured to host a press conference on future plans.
The above picture, which has now been removed from their site, shows a pre-order for the game sometime in 2019 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the cover art used for the game comes from an update of Need For Speed No Limits, which obviously makes it subject for change. This could still mean that Gameware could have caught wind of the name for the game from some sort of source and prematurely advertised it on their site.
Other than rumours, there is not much known about what the new Need For Speed will be like. We can probably put all our eggs in one basket that we will get something at Gamescom from EA. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait and they deliver something to restart the series positively.
What do you think of the name, “Need for Speed Heat”? A possible similarity to something like Hot Pursuit, or maybe the days of Underground and Most Wanted?
